Gilbert Mesquite first baseman Steve Harrington returned to action last week after missing a week’s worth of games due to bronchitus and an irregular heartbeat. He didn’t struggle. The Wildcats won two of three games and Harrington had a pair of hits in each game (wins over Phoenix Carl Hayden and Phoenix Mountain Pointe and a loss to Mesa Desert Ridge). Harrington was 6-for-10 with two homers and eight RBIs in the trio of games.
“It was good to get him back,” Mesquite coach Jeff Holland said. “We’ve had some setbacks this year, but this team keeps battling.”
