Mesa Dobson’s softball team finished spring break in the cool climate of Payson and won all six of its games in the annual Gracie Haught Classic last weekend.
The Mustangs beat Queen Creek twice, Lakeside Blue Ridge, Camp Verde, Payson and Buckeye in going unbeaten and running their record to 12-3. Dobson returned to regular-season play and edged Mesa Desert Ridge, 4-2, on Tuesday for its ninth straight win. Whether or not Dobson can challenge East Valley Region perennial favorite Mesa Red Mountain later on for the region title remains to be seen, but for now confidence is high.
