Following a loss by the Queen Creek boys basketball team to Phoenix Arcadia on Friday night, coach Troy Gibson politely asked me to never cover his team again. No, we aren’t at odds or anything.It’s just that I’m bad luck.
In the three games I’ve watched the Bulldogs play, they have yet to win a game. In the 23 games without me in attendance, Queen Creek is 21-2. Sorry, Coach.
I told him next time I come, I won’t alert him and sit in the back corner the entire contest.

You are welcome anytime to cover the Marcos de Niza basketball games!! We often get lost in the media shuffle due to the abundance of great basketball competition in the East Valley.
We were overlooked last year due to our record. Being a smaller school, we share athletes and our basketball team has to wait for the football players to finish their season. Last year, we surprised everyone and were state runner-up!
So, this year we again are having a late run and invite you with open arms to any of our games!!! Just think of the Cardinals - everyone loves an underdog!
