Sportsmanship looking good

I’ve been to several lopsided football games so far this season, but teams that had a chance to run up the score have refrained.
Chandler Hamilton broke a long run in the final 20 seconds of last week’s 30-14 win over Mesa Red Mountain. The Huskies were a yard from scoring again. They could have hurried to the line and tried for another touchdown. They instead let time run out.
That hasn’t always been the way of it in East Valley football. The games I’ve experienced this year have been clean and hard fought. The temptation to add on has been rebuffed. A good sign in this competitive age.
